"justification"是什么意思

reason 是一般化的原因，理由

justification则一般指正当的做某事的理由，法律上意为正当理由。

justification 就算是法律用语，其生活中也是不少见的。

但至于可不可以替换reason，就要看上下文了。

The reason I don't like pork belly is that it's too fatty. 这里你要替换成justification并不恰

又如：

The reason why a lot of people actually like Donald Trump is that they think he tells it as it is.

而justification作为一种理由是相对更为广泛接受和理解的立场（所以才会有“正当”一说“）

如：there is no justification for an increase in charges.

增加收费是不合理的。这里换成reason也不妥，

当然，英语里经常出现为了避免重复替换单词的情形，所以如果场景允许，两者之间互换未为不可。不过要看你的使用语境，如果语境不对，替换就是负效果，不仅不能加分反而是扣分。反之，如果使用的场景合理，则不用担心。

如:

my reason for doing this is....我这么做的理由是（纯自身出发，没有考虑其他人接不接受这个理由）

my justification for doing this is...我这么做的理由是（为自己的行为辩解，那么显然就得考虑他人的接受度，因此这个理由是什么显得更为重要）
